Ways to save and slay
WAYS TO SAVE
AND SLAY
YouTube is literally my life saver. I go to YouTube for everything, hair/makeup tutorials, cooking recipes, fashion Diy's, Workout videos, etc. YouTube has been a huge part of my hair/makeup journey. From step by step tutorials and beginner friendly content YouTube offers a lot for us beauty gurus. YouTube has also saved me a ton of money and hopefully after reading this you utilize it. Why pay for makeup classes when everything you need is a device away? Why buy expensive distressed denim when you can distress your own jeans? (Because I don’t have time sis) You get the point i’m trying to make! I have been hooked on YouTube for years now, and I plan on starting my own channel soon. Watching different you-tubers has helped me perfect my crafts and I would love to help others.
Personally i’m not interested in buying a $500 wig or bundles nor can I afford them. Synthetic wigs suit me just fine, and so do hair store bundles. I can wear temporary hairstyles, they’re affordable, and it doesn't take much to make a $10 wig look so bomb! There is nothing wrong with investing in an expensive wig or pricey bundles, but don’t let the hype fool you, synthetic wigs will get the job done. Honestly the outcome of your look depends on how you apply the hair. I understand not everyone is hair savvy, that’s what YouTube is for!
ATTENTION all my makeup artist sisters, DO NOT sleep on drugstore makeup! I repeat DO NOT sleep on drugstore makeup. Fortunately for me, I had my mothers makeup to play in when I started wearing makeup in high school. That was until she got tired of me using all her MAC and other expensive brands, just to experiment. Makeup is not cheap… but it can be. If you’re like me, still in the learning process and experimenting with makeup please don’t waste money trying to keep up with social media beauty influence'rs and professionals. Stay in your financial lane love. Stores like Walmart, target, CVS, and Walgreens have a big variety of reasonable makeup, and makeup tools. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes we may have to break the bank on some new Fenty products, or Anastasia pallets, but for everyday looks and creations drugstore makeup should be your go to.
Retail therapy is a real thing, I get it, but SMART retail therapy is a whole new level. Ball on a budget. Get more for your money. Let me look out for your pockets real quick. T.j.Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, and Burlington have a bunch of quality clothing. Sometimes you can find name brand items that are for sale cheaper than the original price. Shoes, clothes, makeup, undergarments and more, can all be found at any of these stores. Some of my favorite wardrobe pieces have come from these stores and you wouldn't even be able to tell. For some weird reason people lie, and are still ashamed to say they shop at these stores knowing damn well their parents, aunties, and uncles shop at them.
If you’re not already a believer of one of the following ways to save and slay, I hope I've encouraged you to try one. I will share a few websites and brands I use that you can possibly benefit from. If you do decide to try something please share your experience I would love to get other girls opinions on some of my favorite products. Feel free to comment any sources you use that us females can benefit from. (Ex. You-tubers, makeup products, clothing stores, hair stores, etc.)
